Pakistani cricketers ignored for Dhaka Premier League

BCB will not provide any offer letters to PCB for Pakistani cricketers to participate in DPL

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will not provide any offer letters to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for Pakistani cricketers to participate in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) this season.
Pakistani cricketers have been played in the DPL for years but problem arose when BCB decided not to send the Bangladesh team to Pakistan in 2012 after it seemed almost sure that the BCB was going to send the national team to Pakistan for a series which was later cancelled due to security concerns. That led to the PCB not allowing Pakistani cricketers to play in the second edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, a move which hampered the marketability of the tournament as Pakistani players are well supported and much sought after in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile the chairman of the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM) Jalal Yunus said that there was no plan for BCB to change its decision after the second edition of BPL when the BCB decided to play domestic tournaments without the Pakistani players, “Pakistan did not allow their cricketers at the last moment before the start of the BPL and we decided that we will run our domestic tournaments without the Pakistani players. We have not even thought about since then,” said Yunus.
However Amin Khan the manager of the Brothers Union cricket team said there would be no Pakistani cricketers in this year’s DPL as the PCB did not gave the N.O.C letter to their cricketers a fact which indicates the clubs will find themselves sans a few big names. “As far I know that there will be no Pakistani cricketers in the DPL this season as their board did not gave the N.O.C letter to them, so we are looking for Sri Lankan, Indian and Zimbabwean cricketers this season,” said Amin Khan.

Meanwhile many Pakistani cricketers are trying to get an N.O.C letter from the PCB and one of them informed the Dhaka Tribune that the PCB is waiting for offer letters from the BCB. A letter they have received many times before. “We are trying hard and we are contacting the PCB where they told us that the BCB is yet to send any offer letter to our board and that’s the reason we are unable to participate in the DPL this season so far,” said a Pakistani cricketer who requested anonymity.
