A Bright Sunday morning, woke up late that day because it was a holiday and no one would dare to get up early on a Sunday morning. The first thing as usual I did was to look for my mobile and to read the text messages. So I started to read the text messages I received last night.
First message which I opened was from one of my friend “Dude, Pics you uploaded yesterday on FACEBOOK was awesome”.
Similarly second message which I opened was also from a friend “Hassan, have you seen the pics I uploaded on FACEBOOK? if not then do see them and also comment on those pics”.
There was nothing new in those text messages for me as I am also a regular user of FACEBOOK like other youth. So what I did after reading those messages was quite similar what other boys and girls of my age do. I turned my laptop on and started to use FACEBOOK and then the whole day passes like a flash and I don’t realize when sunsets and it was Maghreb Prayers time.
Not only me but most of youth are also addicted to FACEBOOK now a days. Not only youth but now the people of all the ages are becoming users of FACEBOOK and they are becoming addicted to it.
Sometime  it force me to think that what magic FACEBOOK has done to us in just 2 to 3 years that we all are becoming restless without it.
It’s a story of 2 or 3 years before when only some of Pakistanis were aware of this FACEBOOK and only some Pakistanis were lucky to have their accounts on FACEBOOK that time. But now FACEBOOK has conquered the hearts of people not in Pakistan but all over the World. It is becoming as essential part of life of the youth today. Before moving on lets see what FACEBOOK is.
FACEBOOK is Social Networking website which was launched in 2004. Account Holder on FACEBOOK provides all necessary personal information so other people can view it and communicate with him. FACEBOOK was firstly only used for business purposes but later on it became a symbol of proud for every person.
If we talk about todays youth and role of FACEBOOK in their life then it is totally cleared that FACEBOOK has become an essential part of their lives. Most of the youth whether they are boys or girls have FACEBOOK accounts and it is also becoming a trend in our society of having FACEBOOK account. Whether it is School, College or University FACEBOOK is popular every where.
The role of Facebook in the lives of young boys and girls can be understandable from the fact that wherever they are going, whatever they are doing, whoever comes to their home, whatever they achieved or even whatever they are eating they will surely tell others about it using FACEBOOK status updates.
FACEBOOK also enables a user to upload pictures and this feature is extensively used by young boys. A digital camera is ordinary thing now a days as every mobile has built in camera in it so what our young generation do is that they capture their and their friends pictures and simply upload them on FACEBOOK. As a result other people will see those pictures and will make their comments on them and our Young Generation gets happy with it that their pictures are liked by other and other people are also commenting on their pictures.
One of the research made by American Institute shows that the FACEBOOK users are becoming Proudy and Overconfident. The fact is most of the people use FACEBOOK to share their daily life activities, pictures and achievements with other people and after sharing they wait for other to like their content and to give positive comments on their content. When other people make comments on their content they feel proud on themselves and this lead to overconfident and Proudy nature.
FACEBOOK is also responsible for spreading social evils in our society. As everyone knows the fact that most of the boys and girls spend their time on FACEBOOK in useless chatting and activities which is causing a lot of problems for our Young generation.
So it is necessary for us to use FACEBOOK and other internet tools in a positive way instead of just wasting time in useless activities on these websites. We have to avoid the negative and useless use of FACEBOOK. Apart from this by using such things without any beneficial purpose we are also wasting our time and precious money of our parents. Moreover using Computers/Laptops/Mobiles for long time also causes health risks.
The conclusion I would like to write here is that I am against the use of FACEBOOK or not I am saying that you must stop using FACEBOOK but we should use it in limits and use it for beneficial purpose. One of the leading example of beneficial use is the Revolution in Egypt which was only possible through the use of FACEBOOK so we youth of Pakistan should also use it for beneficial purpose in order to serve our Nation.
